RFA: PNOC Full Member Institution

March 13, 2017

The Pacific Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Consortium is considering additional Full Member Institution sites to add to our 15 Member consortium. The goal of this application is to find institutions with specific expertise and experience in early phase clinical trials and translational research for children, adolescents and young adults with primary CNS tumors. Our group currently conducts phase 1 and phase 2 trials, including IND studies; tissue collection is often required. The data management and operations office for PNOC is located at UCSF. The UCSF Data Safety and Monitoring Committee govern oversight of clinical trials conduct. Preference is given to sites with an NCI approved Data Safety and Monitoring Plan.

Given our specific clinical trials approach, applicable sites should have experience to conduct early phase studies, have a neurosurgical program that is supportive to acquire biopsies for brainstem and other midline tumors, be able to process tissue specimens for patient derived xenograft models and genomic profiling, and ideally have a pre-clinical translational pediatric neuro-oncology program in place.

Support for PNOC clinical trials and operations primarily comes from philanthropy and industry-sponsored trials. Participation in other consortia (COG, PBTC, or others) is not a conflict as long as patient numbers support effective enrollment for multiple consortia conducted trials.

To apply for PNOC membership, please submit an overview of your program including the following information:

o Patient numbers

o Experience in phase 1/2 studies

o Dedicated coordinator effort

o Data safety monitoring plan

o Ability to develop patient dervided xenograft (PDX) models

o Other consortia memberships

o NCI designated cancer center status

o Number of laboratories focused on pediatric neuro-oncology

Priority will be given to sites that also have a relevant clinical trial proposal for PNOC, which should be outlined in the application as well.

Applications are due by May 1, 2017. Please send the requested information as one pdf file to sabine.mueller@ucsf.edu, michael.prados@ucsf.edu and PNOC_regulatory@ucsf.edu. Final decisions will be announced after July 1, 2017.
