Description

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, formerly Children’s Memorial Hospital, provides superior pediatric care in a setting that offers the latest benefits and innovations in medical technology, research and family-friendly design. As the largest pediatric provider in the region with a 130 year legacy of excellence, kids and their families are at the center of all we do.

Our new home has allowed us to: Speed up the healing process. Our 288 all-private rooms reduce noise and control infection. Treat the whole family, not just the patient. Our improved inpatient unit design and unique family spaces make it more convenient for families to visit and remain together during treatment. Transport critically ill newborns faster from Prentice Women’s Hospital using two bridges, allowing families to stay together during care. From June 9, 2012 to April 29, 2013 we transported 156 babies from Prentice to our Neonatology Intensive Care Unit.

Under the leadership of Jason Fangusaro, MD Section Head of Neuro-Oncology, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Program at Lurie Children’s continues to earn recognition for its clinical and scientific expertise and the breadth and quality of its services. Our team has grown to meet the needs of more children and families nationally and internationally and now includes four neuro-oncologists, three advanced practice nurses and three RNs, along with a multi-disciplinary team of caregivers from across the hospital, who care for more than 160 patients new to our institution annually.
